Like the outside of geode, truth
is raw fact—typically hard, plain and unappealing by itself. Developing artful
skill in explaining those facts so that the audience can see the value, make
personal application, and enjoy the learning process is to crack open that
geode, exposing the beautifully intriguing crystalline formations inside.
Just as King Solomon
expressed that he “sought
to find the delightful words and … the correct words of truth,” we should
also seek the crystal clarity of expression that glistens and sparkles with
spiritual light so that our audience comes to
appreciate the beauty of God’s word.
